Genius and philathropist Michelle Collins at the Best Week Ever blog has kindly pulled together a collection of 100 Silver Foxes for our viewing pleasure. While most of them are a given (Rahm, George, Anderson, Jon, Paul Newman), there are a few surprises. Who has she left out? And as a side question, how old were you when you realized that guys with graying hair were actually completely hot (as opposed to just giving you “Dad” vibes)? Clooney exacerbated it, but I think it only really kicked in for me around 22 or so.
Anyway, go check it out, and pass the salt, please.

Eric Dane is not S&P and why the fuck must every picture of Drew Pinsky include a plug for his latest psychoreality wank job??
Srsly, James McGreevey?
I heart Michael Caine and of course, Paul Newman (RIP). John Slattery, yum.
Sam Elliott! Patrick Duffy! Cesar Milan!
But Ben Stiller? EWWWWWWWWWWW
No brainer that #4(0) is the best, my Big Daddy Brett Favre.

Sam Elliott for the win!!!
Some of them on the list I would leap over my dead Grandmother to do. Others? Not so much.
John Slattery is waaaaaaaaaay up there with Anderson Cooper.
As for Clinton, I met him briefly once and the man literally glowed. The charisma radiated from his body and I could see the appeal. Television/print does not do the man justice. (and plus there was that total poonhound vibe but one forgives that)

A few recent pics of Colin Farrell suggest he’s joining the S&P crowd, yummy regardless! Gerard Butler is may favorite. I think I have a weakness for an accent and rogue’s smile!

Paul Newman, Jon Stewart, Craig Kilborn. Those are my top 3 from that list.
I started thinking silver was hot around 18, but it was only because I saw photos of the guys when they were younger and then could see how they had matured and became manly (ex: Sean Connery).

Having been born born boy crazy, it’s impossible for me to determine when I realized gray-haired men were hot. Had to have been early teens.
Not on the BWE list: John Terry (Jack’s dad on Lost).

Also going gray: my once and future dreamlover, Dave Gahan.

I still have not realized it. I’m twenty and I just figured out that guys with stubble could be kind of attractive. And I’m still totally into skinny 20-year-olds who can’t grow beards at all.

I have determined that my fascination with the silver foxes, or salt & pepper maned men began with my dad’s love of country music. He listened to Charlie Rich and Kenny Rogers among many others. I fell in love with Charlie Rich when I was real young. I will still pull out his greatest hits cd and listen to my favorite song of all time, “Behind Closed Doors”. There was a band at a bar we used to go to years ago that learned how to play this just for me. I

David Byrne!
I do have to admit that I had a dream that involved me, Anthony Bourdain and Rahm Emmanuel getting into a food fight. It was strangely hot.

Oh shit, Brett Favre too!
