My hotmail account (yes, I still have one, stop laughing at me!) was recently hacked and keeps spamming mofo’s at 3 in the morning. While researching answers I came across this:
Oh, spambots. Always good for a chuckle.

Spambots have seen it all, done it all, yawn, lol.
But what did you do about your account being hacked? Somebody hacked my nephew’s hotmail account and is spamming me…. nephew is off traveling and not caring about the trail of destruction at the moment.

I ran virus scans several times to make sure it wasn’t malware on my machine and I’m 98% sure it’s not. so I changed my password, hopefully I won’t wake up to a shit ton of mailer daemons again in the morning. what I’m hoping to avoid is having to actually deal with Microsoft “support” if it continues.

Nasty, but I indeed laughed at the end.
I’ve particularly been disappointed in the emails from your account of late that just say “hi.”
You big tease. Hello to YOU!

don’t be ashamed of still having a hotmail account – so do i. it’s the one i use when a website or store or hotel or anything like that needs an email addy; that way my “real” personal email accounts do not get flooded with newsletters and such.

I don’t know why I insist on hanging on to it. I’m the same with my number which I’ve had for eons; I just can’t bear to switch it, it makes me feel dependable somehow. I have like, 6 other email addys that I use regularly, but I’ll be damned if I can let go of this damn hotmail account.
but I think I’ve locked out the spambot so that’s good.
