The folks at TMZ have compiled a rather impressive gallery of celeb mugs and their doppelgänger muppets. Who doesn’t love muppets?! I think I just like saying the word. Also handy as an insult when you really wanna sling one but hafta watch what you say, like when you’re at work and the new person on the team asks you whether or not, “it would look stupid if I put my flip flops on right now?” during a client presentation. Because, you know, SHOES at a client meeting?? Pfft, optional.

My favorite part is how so many starlets look like Janice. Is Janice a style icon? Is she the measure of plasticene beauty all actresses are beholden to? Do plastic surgeons study the contours of Janice’s features to attain physical perfection in humans?

The Pepe the King Prawn/Steve Buscemi pairing makes me happy. Two hilarious guys that prove sometimes bug eyes are adorable.

@paisleypajamas: I think part of it is that Janice is the only vaguely human-looking female muppet. Still, the similarities between Donatella Versace and Janice are rather amazing.

@cate3710: I agree re: Janice and Donatella. There used to be a picture of Statler and Waldorf on the back of a student office door w/ names of two of our very famous professors written in. Also freakily accurate. The Joan/Melissa Rivers thing is bullshit. But it’s TMZ, what can you expect…

How dare they insult Miss Piggy by comparing her to Tori Spelling! Miss Piggy is a cultural icon, a feminist hero, if you will. Tori Spelling, however, is a black eye in the face of females everywhere. The two have nothing in common.
