It’s time for the main event! Tonight will be the last chance for the candidates to debate and convince us why they are worthy of our vote. McCain says he will “whip Obama’s you-know-what” and Obama has been his typical reserved self. With less than 3 weeks to go until the election, the attention will be acutely focused on these 90mins, meet you back here at 8pmCST/9pm EST.

October 15, 2008 at 8:03 pm
New debate rule: When McCain feels the urge to say “my friends,” he must say my precious.
October 15, 2008 at 8:03 pm
I’m HERE. And I’m with Sparkle and inchworm and pals. And I am drinking Ommegang and eating pizza. BRING IT ON, OLDIE.
October 15, 2008 at 8:04 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:04 pm

Hate McCain’s tie! The American public is angry like you grandpa!
October 15, 2008 at 8:04 pm
@Paisley- awesome!
October 15, 2008 at 8:04 pm
McCain continues to not look at Obama. And could barely get his name out. WTF, dude.
October 15, 2008 at 8:04 pm
LOL @ paisleypajamas! I see RED whenever he says that!
October 15, 2008 at 8:05 pm
@ Spicy #15: Dangit! I suck at the HTML…the pic did not work as planned. *pouts*
October 15, 2008 at 8:06 pm
McCranky is a little right – my neighborhood has the highest rate of forclosures in either the county or state (I forget which now). NOT helping me at all.
October 15, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Barack looks really good tonight!
October 15, 2008 at 8:06 pm
I already spiked my hot chocolate!
October 15, 2008 at 8:06 pm
I see that McCain’s makeup people decided not to try to make him look like he just came back from the Caribbean. People might think he’s been visiting his money, or sumptin’.
October 15, 2008 at 8:06 pm
My old hood has like every other house empty – it’s awful!
October 15, 2008 at 8:07 pm
@MsS20: I feel like he’s looking into my SOOOOOOOUL.
October 15, 2008 at 8:07 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
@MsScarlet- yes ma’am he does.
October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
McCain is doing a creepy blinky *stare* at Obama, like he’s determined to prove that he CAN look at him. Uncomfortable.
October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
@single – He IS! He’s knows you’re there! :)
October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
Yo, Sparkle!
October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
STFU MCCain.
October 15, 2008 at 8:08 pm
STF about “Joe” – you don’t know him that way!
October 15, 2008 at 8:09 pm
the american dream is code for sink or swim, motherfuckers.
also, i kinda feel bad for him right now. i need to access my unadulterated rage re: his smarmy angerball reactions and plans. i just inherently feel sorry for old people, i think.
October 15, 2008 at 8:09 pm
um i seriously cant find msnbc on my channel roster.
October 15, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Awww Jackass – bring on the tax talk!
HA! Watching some McCain ads! Good!
October 15, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Joe the Plumber!
October 15, 2008 at 8:10 pm
I think Joe should get up on stage too.
October 15, 2008 at 8:10 pm
yesss Obama.
October 15, 2008 at 8:10 pm
I wondering if they are doing a sit down debate so that McPalin won’t wander around the stage.
October 15, 2008 at 8:10 pm
@spicytamale #34 -on Directv it’s 356, if that helps.
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
“…95% of working families…”
What does this mean now that we are hitting new heights in unemployment stats? Does it mean the “95% of people who would like to have a job and be working for their family?”
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
enough about joe the plumber! who’s looking out for trixie the hooker?
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
“Joe The Plumber” is almost as bad as “That One!”
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
@JustT- I have comcast. HATE THEM.
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
You know Obama wants to just tell him to shut up!
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
McCain looks like his eyes are super dilated – EVIL!!
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
McCain doesn’t understand the principles of Obama’s wealth-spreading. Which, as I type it, looks incredibly dirty.
October 15, 2008 at 8:11 pm
ENOUGH with Joe the Plumber. Holy shit.
October 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm
Leave Joe (the plumber) alone!!!
October 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm
@ Kadinsky #46: He be skeered of “That One.”
October 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm
McCain is looking like an angry old man again!
October 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm
drink for Joe the Plumber!
October 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm
@Kadinsky- i hate McCains laugh. ugh.
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Ireland, apparently.
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
@spicytamale #44 – don’t say that. If the hubs and I move where we’re considering, Comcast is what we’ll be stuck with. Do. Not. Want.
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
I wish McCain would quit interrupting him! Or that he would start interrupting McCain.
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Nobody likes taxes!
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
The important thing is, does Joe the Plumber have a six-pack?
I wish my cat would stop crying so I could hear.
OK, McCain, shut up about taxes. STFU. We can’t cut taxes much, if at all, because of the damn economy sucking ass. Or am I the only one who thinks that’s a bit of a bad idea?
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Businesses SHOULD pay taxes, you dottering old coot! If they don’t have to pay for health benefits this will be money well spent!
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
I forecast that “I AM JOE THE PLUMBER” t-shirts will be a hot Christmas gift item this year.
October 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm
@MsScarlet #51: He always does.
October 15, 2008 at 8:14 pm
@SPARKLE #52 – Joe’s gonna get me drunk on cabernet.
October 15, 2008 at 8:15 pm
@kadinsky #60 – I will buy that shirt.
October 15, 2008 at 8:15 pm
I hadn’t planned on drinking – but that went out the window as soon as I saw McCain!
October 15, 2008 at 8:15 pm
@JustT- it ain’t pretty. Comcast blows!
October 15, 2008 at 8:16 pm
What a pompous smug asshole McCain is. Rawr.
October 15, 2008 at 8:16 pm
McCain is steady scribbling out his Bucket List.
1. Win war
2. Renew drivers license
3. Destroy wimmins rights
4. Sic Sarah on That One
October 15, 2008 at 8:16 pm
@kadinsky – Fabulous Bucket list!
October 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm
“Joe” Six-Pack and “Joe” The Plumber? Don’t the Rebiblicans know anybody named Dave? Or Steve?
October 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm
McCain: During the Depression when I was a young man…
October 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm
Scheiffer’s rather feisty tonight. Not necessarily a bad thing. So far.
October 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm
Answer the fucking question!
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
@paisley/69: Joe = Joseph = JEBUS
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
i already wish this was over.
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
@lala – I hope he continues – especially saying “That wasn’t the question…”
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Obama: I know people who can build bombs, old man; interrupt me one more time and they’ll find your 9 houses.
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Let’s ignore the “spending beyond our means” and go into “home ownership”. Because the two are TOTALLY not related…
October 15, 2008 at 8:18 pm
My head is spinning around . . .is McCain finished yet?
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Just go ahead in cut him, Obama.
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Veto every single one? Whoa…Overhead projectors again!
Deja vu?
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
@ Kadinsky #73: AH-HA!!! Those clever right-dingers! It’s subliminal.
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
“I’ll chop off your leg with a hatchet and THEN trim the tattered remains with my scalpel…”
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Can he not come up w/ anything new – same old shit about the overhead projector – does he think he’s fooling me?
October 15, 2008 at 8:19 pm
CNN’s squiggly lines are not good for Obama
October 15, 2008 at 8:20 pm
@paisleypajamas: It’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, you socialist!
I’m glad Obama is pointing out the 0.5 percent stat. McCain is way too obsessed with earmarks.
October 15, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Why do the Republicans name their hypothetical constituents after THE OTHER TEAM’S VICE PRESIDENT??
@Paisley 76: He has nine? I thought he just had seven. Did he pick a few more up at Target on his way over?
October 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm
He must have been thinking that one up all week!
October 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Oh snap. Nevermind I am gonna cut mccain.
October 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Uh oh – he’s starting to clench his jaw again and he’s getting red. Go get him Barack!
October 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm
@spicytamale: I have turned over to CNN to watch the squiggly lines, against my better judgment. I’m hoping one of them will say “Puppies!” soon.
October 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm
@ Lalaland13 #85: HA! My bad.
@ Single-Malt #86: Oh, seven? I saw a chart on Gawker…I get the luxury vehicles and the houses mixed up all the freakin’ time. You are probably right, my precious.
October 15, 2008 at 8:22 pm
@Spicy84: It’s worse for mccain. I think people are stressed out about taxes. I think I might get a snack and wait for the gay marriage chat.
Leave my earmarks alone. I think I’m getting a $10 million interchange tomorrow.
October 15, 2008 at 8:22 pm
McCain thinks he can balance the budget in 4 years? With all those tax cuts?
October 15, 2008 at 8:22 pm
@ MsScarlet #89: He shouldn’t clench his jaw, because he has no lymph nodes on the left and that’s not good for the poofiness.
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Why is McCain taking all of Obama’s plans and claiming them as his own??
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
“Goodies” makes me think of inappropriate things, thanks to pop music :~P
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
HELL YEAH! Fox news disputes it!
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
nice FACE McPalin!
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Obama: “Even Fox News disputes it.”
BUUUUUURRRRNNNNNNN!!!
October 15, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Ooh, good one! Even Fox News agrees!
October 15, 2008 at 8:24 pm
@Paisley: We’re both wrong. He owns 8 properties.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12700.html
Regardless, he owns 7 more than Obama and 8 more than me.
October 15, 2008 at 8:24 pm
This is a MUUUCH better debate with these two concentrating on what they need to say instead of “playing” to an audience.
October 15, 2008 at 8:24 pm
No, John – those are your bad face lift scars.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Long record of voting with Bush.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Oh hell yes.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Go Bob! Say it to each other’s face.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
What does he mean he has the scars to prove it? I don’t think Congress was at the Hanoi Hilton.
Uh oh, here’s the nasty campaign.
I wish Scheiffer-yay the Palin terrorist thing Oh Ayers here we go.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
“I have disagreed”… he just didn’t VOTE like he disagreed. Actions, dude.
October 15, 2008 at 8:25 pm
oh shit – here we go – Bob opened it up w/ “palled around w/ terrorists”
October 15, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Yes, let’s get to the LIES!!!
October 15, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Get the fuck over the townhall meetings, McCain.
October 15, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Am I wrong here, or does anyone really give a fuck about the damn town hall meetings? That’s bullshit.
October 15, 2008 at 8:26 pm
He needs to get off John Lewis.
October 15, 2008 at 8:26 pm
How would town hall meetings have helped, exactly???
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
All of the townhall meetings would have taken place in swing states and mean little or nothing to the majority of the voters…enough already!
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
I am going insane here. OMG.
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Liar. Liar. Liar. John McCain LIES. LIAR!
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
@spicy: I think we’re on the same page.
Ohh Obama’s sad…so saad….ask him about the Ayers shit Obama. Ask it.
BULLSHIT MCCAIN. You have not.
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
LIAR!!!!! You did NOT repudiate the remarks by your VA GOP chairman!
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Will McCain deal with his fans who call for *killing* obama?
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
John Lewis was spot on. What has McPalin done to repudiate what’s been said at his rallies??
October 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Obama did repudiate Lewis, I believe.
October 15, 2008 at 8:28 pm
He spent more than any campaign in history on negative ads? That’s called INFLATION, Senator McCain!
October 15, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Oh snap! The poll!
October 15, 2008 at 8:28 pm
@brigid1 – yes, he did. Although Lewis was right on – this coming from someone whose parents went threw the civil rights movement in AL
October 15, 2008 at 8:28 pm
ha! what’s greater than 100% ??
October 15, 2008 at 8:28 pm
McCain: It’s very unfair, Bob. When they said nasty things about me and Pitbull, THAT ONE didn’t say ‘sorry’. He nev…
Schieffer: Time’s up – Sen. Obama?
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Im nervous about the lines y’all.
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
McCain’s eyes are brown because he is full of SHIT.
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
You go, Obama! It’s the issues, right?
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Come on McCain – squeeze out a tear punk!
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
I don’t mind being attacked = bring it on shithead!
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
I don’t know if McCain has run any negative ads. I haven’t seen any. And I live in a swing state where I see at least 5 Obama ads a day.
October 15, 2008 at 8:29 pm
@ Spicy #128: Yeah, what’s up with those silly nits with the dial-a-prez? I think they got their instruction backwards!
October 15, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Obama has a decent response but still nervous.
I think the lines are just random sqiuggles by Anderson Cooper.
October 15, 2008 at 8:30 pm
YES!!! Politics don’t solve problems!
October 15, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Come on Obama. Come on.
October 15, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Oh he mentioned the Cowboys game. My dial just went down. But I don’t have one.
October 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm
McCain “You’re being mean to me – stop it!”
October 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Oh, and the ads attack your health care plan because it SUCKS. They aren’t attacks on you, they’re attacks on policy. So sad you can’t tell the difference, John.
October 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Let’s hear what your thoughts are on the issues, John. We need to know. I don’t want to hear how upset you are about the negative ads.
October 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm
@ Single-Malt #133: Seriously? I’ve actually seen very few ads at all for either candidate, but have definitely seen what seems like equal spread of the mudslinging.
I’m not in a swing state, BTW.
October 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Joe the fucking plumber again.
Obama is now laughing at this.
October 15, 2008 at 8:32 pm
LOVE YOU OBAMA! YES. OUT OF LINE.
October 15, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Holy shit! Obama brings up the death threats!!!
October 15, 2008 at 8:32 pm
@Paisley- it’s weird. They have never been this low.
October 15, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Obama: Your running mate hung a bullseye on my door, dude. Not cool.
October 15, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Go Bama!
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Yes, they did repudiate the J. Lewis remarks. Yes, let’s focus on the issues.
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Obama: Your running mate had the audacity to wear a polar bear pin during her stumping this week. *rolls eyes*
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Loud sighs are uncool, McCain. Ask Kerry.
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
McCain, DO NOT LAUGH AT YOUR SUPPORTERS’ RACISM.
@Paisley: If I see that damn “Hanging by a thread” ad again, I will throw something at my TV. GET A NEW AD, PEOPLE.
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
@kadinsky 147: seriously. he’s all like, she tried to get me killed… can you maybe be more careful about that next time? kthxbai.
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
You’re proud of the a-holes who call Obama a terrorist?
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Oh McCain- you are proud of your racist idiots?
October 15, 2008 at 8:33 pm
20k people come to McCain’s rallies? Really?
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
He did NOT just say he’s proud of the people at his rallies! And NO – you did not always say these statements are wrong to say!
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Why can’t he get off the viciousness at his rallies and focus on the issues??
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
McCain is doing a lot of whistling on his “S’s” this evening. S-s-sufferin’ succotash!
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
CAN WE GET ON WITH THE FUCKING ISSUES PLEASE??
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
T-shirts?????
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I want to see those shirts!
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Okay, “repudiate” is clearly the bingo word tonight.
October 15, 2008 at 8:34 pm
@lala – No – it’s been shown over and over that they are overestimating the numbers by a LOT!
October 15, 2008 at 8:35 pm
ok Cnn is pissing me off so i turned it on NBC
October 15, 2008 at 8:35 pm
@Lil Pooh – the tshirts that say “Sarah Palin is a CUNT”
October 15, 2008 at 8:35 pm
OK, at the 1/3 mark, I think it’s, at best, a tie. Anyone else?
October 15, 2008 at 8:35 pm
here we go. Ayers.
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
@ lalaland #156: The same 20K, perhaps? They all caravan around the country behind the Straight Talk Express in their Hummers and over-sized SUVs! Drill, Baby, Drill!
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Now he doesn’t care about Ayers? Really???
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
if Obama keeps saying “vigorous” we’re gonna have to lock Trixie in the bathroom, y’all.
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Aw here we go w/ Acorn again – tell him the truth you shithead! You spoke at the Acorn meeting!
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Does anyone know what ACORN is?
October 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Ohh if Hillary’s in the audience I hope she gets up and beats him over the head. McCain, of course.
October 15, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Ayers. Oh, boy.
October 15, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Voter registration drive — getting false registrations or something.
Ms. Scarlet — more info? OOh, here’s Obama.
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
@lil poo/173: little nuts that grow into big nutbags?
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Kick. Ass.
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
McCain is reminding me of the Onion headline: Report: Obama Played T-Ball During Vietnam.
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Thank goodness. Let’s get ACORN and Ayers out in the open! Go Obama!
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
ok, this is awesome.
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Talk about McCain’s affiliation with Acorn, dammit!
October 15, 2008 at 8:38 pm
@Lil pooh – it’s an umbrella organization that does lots of different community work – one being voter registration – they outsourced the work, workers are paid by the number of people they sign up, some workers (who don’t work for Acorn) filled out fake forms. Acorn notified the Nevada atty gen in FEBRUARY about it – and no response. They kept all the forms to prove that they weren’t turning the forms in – no someone decided to follow up and FOX has portrayed it as a “raid” on Acorn – lots more to it than that, but that’s the basics
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Obama: MY running mate has traveled outside the country, JOHN.
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Rising lines on CNN with the ACORN and Ayers explanations.
Yes, Big O, go get him!
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
ACORN is a community organization for lower income people.
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I’m really glad they’re talking about it, even though McCain is a lying liar who lies out his fucking lying mouth.
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
“Says more about your campaign than it says about me.”
Snap!
Yet McCain won’t shut up.
I’m waiting for them to blame this on Jason Lee. For the Alvin movie.
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Right! He’s a damn LIAR! Tell it, Obama.
October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm
All I have to say about this is that acorns cause a lot of blockages in my line of work.
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
@ MsScarlet #183: Another reason why I shunned a career in TeeVee news: They effing CREATE the news these days.
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
oh snap!
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Bob Schieffer is being a BADASS. Thank goodness.
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
McCain: Taxes and Ayers! Taxes and Ayers!
Oh the running mate question. This should be good.
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm
GOOOOOOOOD Question Bob! Let’s justify Crazy Aunt Sarah’s existence!
October 15, 2008 at 8:40 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Seriously, Bob, you rock my face.
October 15, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Scranton never knew they would one day become so popular.
October 15, 2008 at 8:41 pm
I think McCain’s best response is “She’s got legs; she knows how to use ’em.”
The dial looks decent now, but it’s kind of hard to tell a difference sometimes.
October 15, 2008 at 8:42 pm
God, I hope Bob follows up McCain’s answer with “What the Fuck were you thinking???”
October 15, 2008 at 8:42 pm
@ Kadinsky #200: I’ve thought that, too! First The Office, now VPOTUS!
October 15, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Why is it he always sounds sooo much more intelligent than McCain?? Perhaps because he graduated at the top of his class at Harvard and John at the bottom at the USNA?
October 15, 2008 at 8:42 pm
She is NOT a roll model to ANY women!
October 15, 2008 at 8:42 pm
“They’ve gotten to know her, and her approval ratings have plummeted.”
October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm
We have gotten to know her… and we hate her. Fear her.
October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm
role model for women? fuck you motherfucker. your ass is grass.
October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm
That’s it. That dusty fucker said Palin is a role model to women.
I am officially genderless.
October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Wait am I seeing this right? LOL. Men love this! Women are “meh.” Shitheads. The menz, of course.
October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:43 pm
No fresh air jackass – just a stench of bullshit!

Yes, yes, yes. Additional funding for special needs and education.
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Yeahhh.. role model? REALLY? FUCK YOU. You don’t know shit about women and that proves it.
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Way to avoid the question Barry – without looking like your avoiding it!
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Obama: Sarah Palin couldn’t run her fucking stockings, Bob.
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
@ brigid1 #212: HA! Good catch!
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Iraq united?? When did that happen? After the surge?
October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Oh, yeah. Iraq is SO fucking united.
October 15, 2008 at 8:46 pm

October 15, 2008 at 8:46 pm
let’s pay for autism research by … ?
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
I love how McCain “corrected” Scheiffer. Like he was afraid it would launch into a discussion of Trane.
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Iraq has a 30-year rebuild ahead of them, John Boy, how the fuck is that united? There’s a fucking wall down the middle of one of their major cities…uh, like Berlin, remember?
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
i’d switch teams for bob.
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Angry old man coming out again . . .
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
I wish he wouldn’t lick his lips like that.
October 15, 2008 at 8:47 pm
That’s a lot of oil to eliminate in 4 years!! 45 new nuclear plants?? Is that really safe??
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
45 nuclear power plants-he nearly said pants. Uh, no. Good luck getting that through. Communities aren’t gonna want that.
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
nuclear power is so safe, mccain has had had skin cancer only FOUR TIMES!
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
@inchworm – Bob could be my sugardaddy!
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Can coal be clean? REALLY??
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
We can process Nuclear waste “no problame”??? HOW! Inquiring minds REALLY want to know!
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
McCain’s rhetoric COUNTS on people not reading newspapers or watching the fucking news, I swear to baby Jeebus!
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
nuclear power is so safe, mccain has had skin cancer only FOUR TIMES!
October 15, 2008 at 8:48 pm
@inchworm/234: LOL!
I like a man who STAYS ON POINT.
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
I am full of irate typos tonight.
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
@paisley – well if Sarah doesn’t read, why should anyone else? look where it got her!
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
@lil pooh 237: Yeah, that means almost every state gets a new one. Arkansas has one, and I think we were supposed to build more, but didn’t. It just doesn’t seem to be an idea that people like that much
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
I like how Obama is looking at the American people. :)
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
@M/244: HA! right?! and 60 years is SUCH a long time to gauge the effects of all that nuclear waste.
October 15, 2008 at 8:49 pm
AMEN! Obama is right on with the money being borrowed from China to pay Saudi Arabia. That shite better end DAY EFFING ONE of his taking office.
October 15, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Yeah, sadly, there is really no such thing as “clean coal.”
October 15, 2008 at 8:51 pm
This is boring my cats. They’re asleep. I’d like to see polling of undecided feline voters in swing states.
October 15, 2008 at 8:51 pm
oh god y’all. i was all high (literally and on obama love) and then i thought: imagine it was hillary fielding this man’s bullshit.
and i got a li’l sad. SOB.
October 15, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Hmm, I had no idea the Kia imbalance was that bad.
October 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm
McCain just got snippy. I really don’t see what the point of that snipe was; what that was intended to undercut about Obama. Looked petty.
October 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm
We can drill all we want. Until we build some freaking refineries, it means JACK.
October 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Ummmm, John – can’t go to community college if I can’t afford it!
October 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm
@ Inchworm #254: Hillary announced this week that her running for president days are probably over, too. I wept.
October 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm
i seriously want this to end. UGH.
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
@lalaland13: My cat just woke up when Obama was speaking. Had now heard McCain and closed her eyes again.
Umm…McCain, you wanna talk about who traveled where?
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
Did McCain just say Obama doesn’t go down?
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
what is he talking about? i am soooooo lost!
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
What? We’re back fighting the war on drugs too? And COLOMBIA is our ally?
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
@ Spicy #260: Seriously, it’s like we’ve been cramming for the test too much–we’ve heard this all before over and over and over…
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
Is anyone else disturbed by McCain’s left wonky eyebrow? (Your right)
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm
@Spicy: I know. I’m looking forward to my cheesecake thawing. Got it today at Target, mmm.
OK, so McCain was all “Obama knows nothing ’bout Colombia!” Obama is disproving that. And I’m not sure people are really “Yes! We need more Colombia stuff!”
October 15, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Now, John – you know the last time you dared Obama to “go somewhere” *cough Iraq* that didn’t turn out so well for you now did it?
October 15, 2008 at 8:54 pm
@ The Mayor #266: The entire left side of his face is farked due to skin cancer and lymph node dissection. He’s always cheating the camera with his other side like some narcissistic movie star, or something.
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Do you all know that we send the pesticides we can’t use to South America and they use it on their fruits and veggies? There’s no regulation. I eat local and organic.
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
@Mayor: He does seem a bit like he’s having an aneurysm (sic?) each time he doesn’t like something.
@brigid1: I think my cat just opened her eyes, but mostly to look at me like “What do you want?”
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
@paisley@lala- i just get a bad feeling people are gonna call this one for McCain.
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Is John snoring?
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
bring back the electric car!
October 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm
@ lalaland #267: Did someone say cheesecake? *sniffs air for sweet smell*
October 15, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Dial is going down on Chavez ….I love how men will love stuff and women are “eh. Not so much.”
October 15, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Obama is starting to look like Biden did while listening to Sarah
October 15, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Restricting trade is not always a bad again.
October 15, 2008 at 8:56 pm
@spicytamale: Why do you think that?
October 15, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Whoops – restricting trade is not always a bad THING.
October 15, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Health insurance needs to go awaaaay. It’s a bad idea bent on promoting capitalism at the expense of people’s health.
Universal healthcare is the only way, ‘Bama!
October 15, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Health insurance sucks, y’all. I have it, and it’s a lot better than nothing, but I ran out of insurance for my awful teeth, so the cavities must wait till January.
Although that may be the fault of my teeth more than anything.
@paisley: Want some? I have a sampler cheesecake bite pack of some sort. …oh the dial loves this.
October 15, 2008 at 8:58 pm
@spicy – I think people are just going to think he “survived” – and threw in everything he could think of but not an organized argument in there anywhere
October 15, 2008 at 8:58 pm
@brigid1- I dont know. Because McCain is basically giving it all he’s got. What does he has to lose? He’s such a scum bag. I dont know I get the feeling is all. CNN’s squiggly lines worry me too. Like i said already.
October 15, 2008 at 8:59 pm
McCain has never had to worry about money or insurance in his life. What does he know?
October 15, 2008 at 8:59 pm
I hope so McScarlet. I hope so!
October 15, 2008 at 8:59 pm
JOE!
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
@ lalaland #282: Pleeease! *passes her plate* Ahhh…virtual cheesecake!
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
you CAN’T get insurance for $5000 – and the money doesn’t come to us! and you want to tax our healthcare money! FUCK YOU!
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Childhood obesity? Physical fitness??? There’s ALREADY something in place for that!
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
“Healthcare records online”
YEEEAAAHH. Because the fucking gubmint is soooooo careful with my personal information, they would never like, let your social security number go floating around or anything.
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Oh Gawd. SHUT UP ABOUT JOE.
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
My friend again. There is no fine!
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
WTF is Joe the only voter in Ohio? Shut up!
And why must McCain mention obesity as I bust out the cheesecake? Just don’t do fatness report cards for kids like Arkansas did.
October 15, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Seriously – Joe just wants to be left alone now.
October 15, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Hey McCain – Joe the plumber is a member of the Rednecks for Obama! You’re done!
October 15, 2008 at 9:01 pm
OH SNAP!!
ZERO, JOE!!! NADA!!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:01 pm
McCain voted against the insurance for children.
October 15, 2008 at 9:01 pm
i love canada and england
October 15, 2008 at 9:01 pm
McCain: I am so affronted right now. Look at my shocked face. And now I will take notes. And smile smugly. Mwahahahaha
October 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm
How much you wanna bet Joe (the “original”) starts making the rounds on The View and CNN and anyone who will pay for his appearance?
October 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm
You guys, Obama is talking TO ME. This is awesome.
October 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm
@Lil pooh #298 – a LOT.
October 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Paisley, you want New York style, raspberry swirl, or turtle?
SNL is so going after the Joe thing. I like to imagine they’ll pan to Joe sitting at home snoring.
October 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm
30 minutes to go.
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
Nobody can afford health insurance, because the system is overdrawn, just like our national deficit. It’s gonna be PAINFUL to get that turned around.
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I’m going to my happy place – in my mind!
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I always said I’d move to Canada if the 1st Bush was elected to office. I would be a 20 yr. resident of Montreal if I had.
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I’m not even watching. I was watching the Phillies.
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
@kadinsky #302 – YOU’re Joe The Plumber??? *jealous*
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
JOE is rich? Is he single?
October 15, 2008 at 9:03 pm
Get off Joe!
October 15, 2008 at 9:04 pm
If Dorothy is here, I am writing her in. Based on the Cheesecake Platform.
October 15, 2008 at 9:04 pm
@ lalaland #304: Ohmigawd…tuuuurtle…*drools*
October 15, 2008 at 9:04 pm
like your wife, huh McCain.
October 15, 2008 at 9:04 pm
@inchworm #299: That was my reaction to McCain’s comment. I wanna be more like them!
October 15, 2008 at 9:04 pm
what the fuck is he on about? srsly, I followed every word obama said and i’m blazed. i have NO IDEA what mccain is talking about.
joe is rich now?? gold plated cadillac what?!?
October 15, 2008 at 9:05 pm
But the big question is – when Joe is repairing my “plumbing”, can i see his ass-crack b/c he doesn’t wear a belt? :)
October 15, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Dorothy Zbornack for the cheesecake reform of America!
October 15, 2008 at 9:05 pm
@JustT/310: how You doin’?
October 15, 2008 at 9:05 pm
@paisley: Here ye go. Enjoy.
“The size of government has grown by 40 percent in the last eight years! Much like my prostate.”
October 15, 2008 at 9:05 pm
And you think 5000 is enough?? You’re not taking care of insurance, just paying the ins. companies.
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
But Barack, I don’t want to keep it. I want one that doesn’t make me pay $60 for a month of birth control. Boooooo!
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
@kadinsky: i, too, am lost.
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Roe v Wade – here we go!
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
You know, the GGs were *very* socialist – they split that cheesecake 4 ways, no matter who bought it!
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
aha! the abortion section, excellent, gays should be next.
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
I’m waiting for Scheiffer to say “Joe is dead. Shut up!”
Ohhh god abortion. Now I’m scared. Because I just hate thinking of a McCain court.
October 15, 2008 at 9:06 pm
@lil pooh- average cost is 12000 a year.
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
@323
I mean I hate paying $60, not Joe. Joe the Plumber.
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
Shit. No Federal protection for womens rights.
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
Qualifications? Oh, McCain…don’t go there…
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
@Ms. Scarlet – I think Joe will have some of that SNL crack cover stuff. No crack there.
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
stop using the air quotes jackass!
October 15, 2008 at 9:07 pm
if i keep rolling my eyes when McCain speaks i fear they may stay that way.
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
The problem with your state proposal, Walnuts, is that liberals like me who are stuck in red states are screwed.
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
@MSScarlet- he’s like Dr. Evil.
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Oooh, look at JM lying through his teeth about nominating impartial Supreme Court justices!
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
That is the way we should judge these guys! Ideology matters!
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
I don’t think Obama voted on Breyer’s nomination – must go check!
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
So the U.S. AG can discriminate on ideolgy, but not voting senators?
October 15, 2008 at 9:08 pm
What the hell with the CNN squiggle lines? These people most certainly have their toggle backwards, upside down and in their effing ears!
October 15, 2008 at 9:09 pm
so neither of them answered the question.
October 15, 2008 at 9:09 pm
obama, i think i love you. so what am i so afraid of.
October 15, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Yessss Obama!
October 15, 2008 at 9:09 pm
“Roe vs. Wade hangs in the balance” – YES!!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
I wish Obama didn’t have to add the “religious advisers” line but I still love his response, mostly.
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
I can’t stand watching the squiggly line video. McCain looks so damn smug.
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
I just love him so mucj. This IS a national issue, NOT a state issue.
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
OOH the ledbetter case!
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Equal pay!!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:10 pm
maybe he did vote on it – but it was right after he was sworn – sorry – I’m OCD that way! Breyer was nominated in 2004, Obama was sworn in in 2005
AWWWWWWW hell yeah – bring up ledbetter! GOOD for you!
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
@lala: But he has to in order to capture the attention of women who do actually go to religious leaders for consultation.
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
It’s definitely a national issue.
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Oh god pay discrimination. Between this and the cheesecake, I lurve it.
Obama should nominate cheesecake to the Supreme Court.
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
This isn’t the best debate. Not the best forum for Obama. I want to see McCain looking for Mr. Puddles.
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I love him so much. Barack I mean.
October 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Yeah, baby! Ledbetter was mentioned when Michelle was on Larry King this week, too! She called her “one of my heroes.” She pointed out that Lily will never benefit from the work she’s doing, but still does it for future generations of women workers.
October 15, 2008 at 9:12 pm
You have no idea about what a woman faces when deciding – don’t even go there!
October 15, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Shut the fuck up you asshole McCain. You aren’t changing my culture. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
October 15, 2008 at 9:12 pm
It’s not partial birth abortion jackass!
October 15, 2008 at 9:12 pm
John: we must show courage and compassion to these filthy little hoors, and then send them “to camp” for a spell.
October 15, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Late term abortion is a “bad” procedure? In what way?
October 15, 2008 at 9:13 pm
not true = liar!
October 15, 2008 at 9:13 pm
Thank you for clarifying! Don’t let him get away with this nonsense.
October 15, 2008 at 9:14 pm
I think Barry should stare at John when he answers, ’cause it will make him forget shite.
October 15, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Roe v. Wade. O.k. this is such a religious issue. Why can’t we as women make our own decisions?
October 15, 2008 at 9:14 pm
John MCCain’s breathing is freaking me out.
October 15, 2008 at 9:14 pm
I just love how McCain thinks Obama should be called out for being against a law that sounds like it’s not very common (I could be wrong) but doesn’t want to let the rare woman who needs an abortion to save her life get it.
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
OMG SEX EDUCATION
i think i might pass out.
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
McCain’s blinking is fucking annoying the piss outta me.
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
More snorting and sighing and deep breathing. Grow up, McCain.
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
I want to hear how McCain answers this one.
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
@spicy – just like last time – he’s Darth Vader!
October 15, 2008 at 9:15 pm
The dials went sky-high near the end of Obama’s abortion answer.
McCain is an adoptive parent? I thought Cindy just kind of brought the kid home and McCain said, “OK fine whatever.”
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
I thought Cindy adopted the girl and he didnt know about it?
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
you and cindy don’t bump uglies? WHAT A SURPRISE.
ick.
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
GAH! It’s not pro-abortion, you old cock! I don’t know anyone who is all, “WOO! Abortion!”
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
So, women are never in danger when having babies? Such a effing man.
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
McCain, stop saying pro-abortion. No one is pro-abortion. They are pro-CHOICE, you fucker.
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
@Kadinsky- LOL.
October 15, 2008 at 9:16 pm
@lala – and she lied about Mother Teresa supposedly telling her to adopt – she never met her!
October 15, 2008 at 9:17 pm
@JustT: And his hand gestures to someone unseen. Bob? Or someone imaginary?
October 15, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Yay, education. Let’s talk about how India pays for people to go and get advanced degrees…even in ‘Murica, where the rest of us dumbfucks have to pay for it!
October 15, 2008 at 9:17 pm
THEY ALL NEED HIGHER PAY!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Math, science and HISTORY.
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
I want to marry this man.
I hope he is for real.
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
$100,000 in loans! And no job! Right here – speak to me Barry!
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Okay, I came in way late, but O kicked ass, right?
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
This is scary. I just nearly dropped the cheesecake.
Sky high dial for Obama-think I’ll go back to MSNBC in a few though. Rather relieved this is the last question.
Yes yes yes. I took on too much debt. I regret it sometimes. Especially since I went into journalism, for crying out loud.
I would have so done the community service. Could I have volunteered at Planned Parenthood?
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
@brigid1 – Definitely HISTORY! And LIBRARIANS!
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
YES! Parents!
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
@ MsScarlet #382: It was probably “real” in her shriveled little, pill-popped mind when she hallucinated meeting Sister Theresa. Such fucking malarky!
October 15, 2008 at 9:18 pm
@kadinsky #387 – I truly believe he is.
October 15, 2008 at 9:19 pm
I want to fucking cut McCain. For reals.
October 15, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Don’t get me started on NCLB!
October 15, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Hahah the dial shoots down when McCain starts talking. Lord.
My mom loved the parent answer, I bet. She gets so damn frustrated when parents yell at her when they’re shitty parents.
October 15, 2008 at 9:19 pm
@lala – I would have loved to have you w/ me at Planned Parenthood two weeks ago when I was accosted by three nutcases!
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
How about you provide money and resources for public schools? You won’t need competition.
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
McCain: we find bad teachers another line of work. we make them p.e. teachers.
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
How do you “promote” a teacher? How ’bout just pay them well and make sure they can get a low-interest loan guarantee for a fucking house, you dick.
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
I’m sorry, McCain. There aren’t enough teachers who want to work in New Orleans.
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
@LilPooh – NCLB = way to get rid of public education!
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
@K: or driver’s ed instructors
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Did JM just say that teacher’s shouldn’t be certified?
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Teacher exams?? So we’ll just let anyone teach our kids. Vets teaching without any training?
October 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm
@ Kadinsky #400: LOL!!! Or shop teachers! Home Ec!
October 15, 2008 at 9:21 pm
McCain is so fucking pathetic. I can’t even look at him without shooting daggers.
October 15, 2008 at 9:21 pm
@MsScarlet: I woulda loved to be there. I get so frustrated because my line of work prohibits me from having opinions on certain things, or at least being vocal about them. Sigh.
October 15, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Dorothy! we want you to be elected to the cheesecake supreme court of america.
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
I know teachers. NCLB = evil.
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
@LL/405: McCain thinks teachers with military service shouldn’t have to get those pesky certifications and shit. just let ’em teach! they’re heroes!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Obama makes me swoon when he talks about kids.
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
NCLB – schools are now not identifying because they don’t want to have that subgroup (ex. sp. ed.) It’s happening!! Gifted kids are getting left behind. Not every kid can learn at the same pace. Not every kid is academic.
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
@kadinsky – So maybe some school district will hire McCain after the election!
October 15, 2008 at 9:22 pm
@ Kadinsky #412: What a fucking double standard. This guy has NO RESPECT for education at all…not that we should expect more from someone who was a legacy from birth to the Naval Academy.
October 15, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Pound cake is better when you’re tipsy.
October 15, 2008 at 9:23 pm
@Dorothy #399: YES! Sometimes you don’t need competition, you need funding and support!
Ooh, “I don’t think America’s youth is a special interest group” – nice!
October 15, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Early education is key–ask ANY teacher who has worked at any level with troubled kids and they can pinpoint back in pre-K and kindergarten where something went horribly wrong.
October 15, 2008 at 9:23 pm
John – you got your education because of who your dad was – Obama worked for his!
October 15, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Burn a fucking hole in his skull with that stare, Barry…
October 15, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Don’t get me started at the DC school system! Try to use their online application and how to get certified there!
October 15, 2008 at 9:24 pm
jesus, mccain is just seething hatred. he can barely contain his rage.
heh heh
October 15, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Vouchers?? In DC? Where will the kids go? BTW, Michelle Obama went to one of the best magnet schools in the country. I know. I have 2 cousins who went there.
October 15, 2008 at 9:24 pm
I just noticed CeeJee isnt here. BOO.
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
DOWN. NOT AUTISM.
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Can I just say – when are we going to hold the PARENTS accountable?????
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
John – Autism is not the same as Downs! FUCK!
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Sarah Palin’s kid does not have autism.
Jenny McCarthy’s dial just went up, though.
I’m tired. End this now.
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Uh, Sarah’s kid isn’t autistic. All mental disabilities aren’t the same, dipshit.
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Autism is UNRELATED to NCLB!!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
i REALLY want McCain to stop licking his lips. EWW
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Dip fuck? Sarah Palin doesn’t know dick. Her son is in Iraq after failing out of h.s. and her future son-in-law is a dropout.
October 15, 2008 at 9:25 pm
@paisley/416: no shit, man. all he’s said is “reform” – tell me HOW please.
October 15, 2008 at 9:26 pm
I think he went to Sarah’s School of Smarmy Smiling for this debate.
October 15, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Rhee is former TFA. She doesn’t support vouchers. She supports charters.
October 15, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Obama, loan forgiveness for peace/americorps volunteers = BRILLIANT. Losing 2 years of repayment on my loans was one of the reasons I didn’t go into the PC. And my brother can only afford americorps because he went to a state school.
@Spicy: I didn’t know it could be better!
October 15, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Vouchers are NOT charter schools. Get a clue.
October 15, 2008 at 9:27 pm
McCain looked so effin smug….stop cackiling. Sigh.
October 15, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Oh good – Barry bringing up the rear!
October 15, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Would somebody fucking draw McCain a picture of Trisomy 21 and explain how it is congenital and autism, we are now discovering, may not be? Puhleeeze?
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
@lala – he’s snorting, not cackling, I think.
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
9/11!
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
I don’t trust anyone with prominent lower teeth and wonky eyebrow.
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
I have hated Bush since he first ran, but I have NEVER felt as violent as this campaign has made me.
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
Is crashing 4 navy planes being a careful steward of our tax dollars?
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
McCain: well thank ya, bob and hofstra and (gestures at obama) pause….i think we’ve had a spirited debate…”
October 15, 2008 at 9:28 pm
we can’t stop the biggest spending if we stay in Iraq jackass!
October 15, 2008 at 9:29 pm
@You’re right. And I can’t spell either, alas.
I think this liveblog kept me sane. Otherwise blurgh. I need to go clean the toilet or something.
October 15, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Cool. I don’t trust you, McCain. Will you go away now?
October 15, 2008 at 9:29 pm
@ Dorothy #435: You might be right. And all of that lip smacking of his dry, cracked lips is his substitute for the Palin Lip Press…for emphasis, y’all…
October 15, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Who do we trust?
October 15, 2008 at 9:30 pm
mccain: there’s a long line of mccains…
because they never die. see: mccain’s momma.
October 15, 2008 at 9:30 pm
@lala 449 – Doesn’t John mean “toilet”?
October 15, 2008 at 9:30 pm
@ Lil pph #446: THANK YOU! Golly…people forget so quickly how his big fuckups provided the opportunity to become a “hero.”
October 15, 2008 at 9:30 pm
My cable has stopped and started briefly tonight. Like froze up. Not for long, but still weird.
I say Obama “won,” but who knows?
October 15, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Bless his heart. I love Bob.
October 15, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Well, didn’t change my vote…I can’t wait to vote…votin’ early, y’all!
October 15, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Aw, that was cute, Schieffer.
October 15, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Obama won – period
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
I’m going to watch MSNBC to see who won.
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
@lil pooh: Haha, so it is. So it is.
It’s over. Ahh! Wolf Blitzer! Run back to MSNBC.
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Michelle looks Fantastic!
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Michelle could so kick Cindy’s ass!
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
@ Kadinsky #453: Okay that was just freakin’ awesome…their zombies! Even the Big C can’t kill ’em!
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
NPR just said the star of the debate was “the plumber.”
October 15, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Deep love. And I *pray* I look as good as Michelle when I’m her age!!!
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
@LaLa456: That happens during my morning Golden Girls episode. It’s awful.
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Rachel! YAY!
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
oooooo – here comes Rachel Maddow!
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Would someone get Cindy McCain a fucking stylist, already? She wore a red turtleneck under a low-cut shiny silver suit this week. Blech! It was awful!
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Ahh Rachel. I hope she stays on TV for many years to come.
I did see a bit of change in the debate-Obama kind of came back a bit in the second half but I think he was fine the first half. Mostly.
October 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm
FYI, Hillary’s going to be on CNN.
October 15, 2008 at 9:34 pm
@paisley/465: haha!
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Cindy needs to stop wearing such bright/harsh colors. It’s awful!
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Ugh. Go away, Uncle Pat.
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
omg, this Paul Begala guy on CNN has a YOOGE head.
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Cindy just wants to show off how rich she is.
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
@brigid1: Ohh maybe the plumber won.
October 15, 2008 at 9:35 pm
I hate Pat.
October 15, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Pat – Barack is not going to criticize Sarah – he’s a gentleman – unlike McCain
October 15, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Hillary will also be on NBC.
October 15, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Pat – no one cares about Ayers
October 15, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Pat is clueless.
October 15, 2008 at 9:37 pm
I love Rachel.
October 15, 2008 at 9:37 pm
@ Lil pooh #478: And how color blind. Shite, with all her cash she should pay someone to impersonate her…Christy Brinkley, or somebody. Her taste is for shite.
October 15, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Chris Mathews is making a great point about how McCain just shot himself in the foot w/ anyone who is pro-choice, or even anti-abortion but still wants the health exception
October 15, 2008 at 9:39 pm
No, he’s not Bush, but pretty close.
October 15, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Obama won.
October 15, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Is anyone going to point out the differences between autism and down syndrome? Will Palin lie into the camera again and say no, my son is autistic?
October 15, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Andrea Mitchell is irritating me!
October 15, 2008 at 9:44 pm
I’m going to bed. At some point I want John to tell me just exactly how he’ll sweep into Washington and change it all.
October 15, 2008 at 9:46 pm
@Lilpooh – He’s gonna sweep in the the horseman of the apocalypse!
October 15, 2008 at 9:47 pm

October 15, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Joe The Plumber lives in Ohio and the CNN poll people hate him.
October 15, 2008 at 9:50 pm
it used to be a second clinton that needed to clean up after the second bush. WAH!
October 15, 2008 at 9:51 pm
I love Hillary’s necklace.
I want to be her when I grow up.
October 15, 2008 at 9:53 pm
I’ve had this song in my head all damn day. “Johnny my love, get out of the business, it makes me want to rough you up so badly…He can probably skip the until death part. Cause Johnny my love you’re already dead.”
Doubt Liz Phair and I mean it the same way, though.
G’night ladies. This was fun, but I’m glad it’s the last damn debate.
October 15, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Okay, those poll results up above gave me the best laugh all day!
October 15, 2008 at 10:04 pm
For those on Facebook (Thanks Sheila!)

Night Night lovely ladies!
October 15, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Good thread, y’all!
October 15, 2008 at 10:30 pm
Well I missed all the “fun” but I caught this on NBC:
An undecided voter in Virginia says she’s leaning toward Obama, but needs to take a closer look at the issues. Because after an 18-month+ campaign she apparently hasn’t yet considered the issues.
And Mittens said that Obama “in some respects doesn’t keep America America” while McPain believes in the American ideal of entrepreneurship. They seriously just pull this shit out of their asses!
