Um…. So I know the Holiday season is upon us, and the cosmetic companies are starting their ho-ho-hooring a little early this year, but… This is ridiculous. Feast your eyes on either the funniest or the saddest celebrity cosmetic endorsement, after the jump!

Subject: Get Josie Bissett’s Youthful Glow
============================================================
AAAAHAHAHAAHAHAAAAAA!! Like anybody’s going to buy this shit because an aging star on a nearly-forgotten TV show is testifying for it. Seriously, Josie Bissett, I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. Don’t get me wrong, she’s beautiful. She looks utterly fantastic for any age. But, Murad, if you wanted to re-animate the corpse of an old 90s dinosaur, the least you could have done is pick one with a breath of relevance left in them! Might we suggest Shannen Doherty or Jennie Garth, as they’re currently on the career revival upswing. Pick someone like the lady who plays Lily Van der Woodsen Bass. Or anyone currently featured on the CW. Get with the now!
Please list your pics for Stars of the Past whom you would like to see in a cosmetics campaign in the comments. I’m pulling for Judith Light, myself.

I generally do not believe the claims of any celeb endorsed products, especially beauty products, but I’ll be damned if Courtney Cox’s mug doesn’t make me wanna use Kinerase.

I’ve already got “The Facts of Life” on the brain today, so I immediately thought of Lisa Whelchel. It’s not a beauty product, but it turns out she’s got the “spokesperson” thing down already:

I fell for the Cindy Crawford infomercial one night in a hotel room when I couldn’t sleep and they kept knocking the price down to next to nothing.
It was nothing special and I cancelled. Valerie Bertinelli lied.

Usually I try my damnedest to resist celebrity-endorsed products but I was sucked into the ERA spray foundation that Carmindy uses on What Not to Wear. When you want that super-flawless total coverage look it is great (for fancy, much-photographed occasions and whatnot).

I used ProActiv before all the celebrities started shilling for it. It was OK, but not great. And they kept sending it to you until you called them and threatened them with bodily harm to get them to stop.
I still long for Mary Kay TimeWise stuff sometimes, but I can’t really afford it. And I may have hit upon something that works OK anyway-the other day I stepped out of the shower and saw my face and went “Holy shit! My face is awesome!” Thanks, Noxzema stuff I bought on a whim at Wal-Mart.

AYL: Nice Melrose reference! That bitch Sydney!
November 13, 2008 at 8:31 pm
@trixie: sydney! that’s right. her name was slipping my mind. i always thought she was prettier anyway. did you know that the dude that played michael mancini is married to the girl that played sydney in rrrrl life?
November 13, 2008 at 8:59 pm
No, the guy who played the blond gay guy on Melrose and plays one of the husbands on Desperate Housewives is married to Sydney.
His name is Doug Savant. Her name is something Leighton. She’s still as cute as a button — she hasn’t aged at all!

oh yeah shit you’re right, matt! laura leighton i think. and marcia cross is on DH and was on MP. it’s all so incestuous!
November 13, 2008 at 9:53 pm
I know! And Charlotte from Sex and the City — she’s almost unrecognizable from the loon she played on Melrose. What was her name? I LOVED her as a psycho, the way her eyebrows would go all wonky when she was having a psychotic episode. Such a far superior character to Charlotte.

BROOKE!
November 13, 2008 at 9:56 pm
i had forgotten about that! she was mad! but remember when marcia cross’ character came back from the dead basically? SHE was batshit!! :: lightning strikes in the distance ::

When she pulled the wig off? A television classic!

I used to have Ms. Bissett as a customer at my old job. She was lovely looking but lord I wanted to make her eat an extra sandwich.
