After watching Matt Cassel in the first preseason game, I’m in my own private hell over here. Hoping Friday looks better. So long as Favre sticks to the NFC and doesn’t come back by then, he doesn’t intrude on my pain.
We’re Chiefs fans. There is no end to the pain, only a general sense of ennui which eventually subsumes most of the pain. I watched that game with a glazed sense of detachment, morosely shaking my head. I anticipate this is what I’ll be doing for 16 Sundays this season.
K, I thought of you as soon as I heard. I don’t know what kind of crack Favre is smoking, but he needs to put the fucking pipe down, STAT. How do you retire, come back, retire and then come back to play for the arch-nemesis of your former team? I mean, WTF? Does he really need money that badly? If you miss football Brett, fucking coach, or call some plays from the booth. This is just shameful and sad.
So, I was ever so unlucky to be in Minnesota when this happened…I’m so torn as to what to do, as I almost feel like abandoning my precious Vikings until he blows out a knee (arm, ankle…whatever other old man body part may go next). So disgusting. One of the tv channels was actually tracking his progress live from the airport to the offices to the field, like O.J.
That said, the headline today on the Star Tribune was “Favre Fevre”…which was pretty good.
